MICHAEL TERRY
CHAPPELL
1946 – 2009
Michael Terry
Chappell, 62, of Salinas, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2009, in
Salinas after a brief illness.
He was born in
December 1946 in El Centro, CA. He graduated from Holtville Union High
School in 1964. After High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served
his country proudly. He worked in the agricultural field for nearly 40
yrs. Once he retired, he loved to go on RV trips to the lake, and the
Sierra Mountains. He loved to go fishing and cruise out on the lake. He
loved to spend time with his family and barbeque on the weekends. He
will be missed by all.
We would like to
thank Dr. Chan and staff, Dr. Haghighat and nurse Julie of Los Palos
Oncology office, and to nurse Jo Young for their support.
He is survived by
his wife of 22 years, Rita Chappell; children, Candi Chappell of
Oklahoma, Teri Chappell (Thaddeus) of Washington, Michael L. Chappell
(Leticia) of Sacramento, Kyle Chappell of Salinas and Kevin Chappell of
Salinas; 7 grandchildren; brother, Gary Chappell of El Centro; sisters,
Fay Geary of Phoenix and Barbra Harrison of El Centro.
Memorial service
will be held at Whitehurst Muller on Monday, April 13 at 10 a.m.,
followed by crematory services at Memories of Garden.
The family requests
in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the
American Cancer
Society in Terry's honor.
